Monday, November 28, 2011 marked the 97th Annual Goodfellow Sales Day.  Members of the Old Newsboys' Goodfellow Fund of Detroit and Detroit Police Officers gather together to sell special editions of The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press to raise funds for the holiday gift packages and our other programs. Thanks to everyone who bought a paper at our 2010 Sales Day - we raised a total of $71,202.90 (a slight increase from our 2009 Sales Day).

Detroit Goodfellow members along with Wayne County Exeuctive Robert Ficano, Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee and PAWS gathered at the Guardian Building at 10:00 am on November 29, 2010 for the traditional parade through the streets of downtown Detroit. The Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences marching band and the Detroit Police Color Guard also joined in the festivities. Goodfellow members also enjoyed a complimentary breakfast at Detroit's famous Caucus Club. The band members were treated to lunch courtesy of American Coney Island. All funds collected at the 2011 event wil support our goal of $1.3 million.
