Monday, November 26, 2012 marked the 98th Annual Goodfellow Sales Day. Members of the Old Newsboys' Goodfellow Fund of Detroit and Detroit Police Officers gathered together to sell special editions of The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press to raise funds for the holiday gift packages and our other programs. Thanks to everyone who bought a paper at our 2012 event - we raised a total of $59,609.75 towards our goal of $1.2 million.
Detroit Goodfellow members, Detroit Police officers and PAWS gathered at the Guardian Building at 10:00 am on November 26, 2012 for the traditional parade through the streets of downtown Detroit. The Renaissance High marching band and the Detroit Police Color Guard also joined in the festivities. Goodfellow members also enjoyed a complimentary breakfast at Fishbones in Greektown. The band members were treated to lunch courtesy of American Coney Island. Thanks to Chase Bank for their help and to the Wayne County Executive Offices for hosting us!
