Dear Future Santa or Mrs. Claus:
Thank you for your interest in assisting the Old Newsboys' Goodfellow Fund of Detroit as we work to ensure that there is "No kiddie without a Christmas." Listed below are some current and upcoming volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in assisting in any of the ways listed below, please contact Goodfellow Director Sari Klok-Schneider at sarigoodfellows@gmail.com.

Doll Program
Goodfellows provide undressed doll and volunteers provide clothing and accessories for the doll. Dolls are distributed in the spring and returned to the Goodfellows in August/September for packaging and distribution to girls 4–9 during the holiday season. Dolls are 13” tall.

Package Distribution Program
Each holiday season the Goodfellows distribute packages containing warm clothing, toys, books, games and candy to children in Detroit, Highland Park, Hamtramck and River Rouge. This year we will distribute 35,000 packages at eight different locations in Detroit. These sites are staffed by Detroit Police Officers who oversee the entire process. Package Distribution is held in early December.

Junior Goodfellows Program
Young people are encouraged to assist the Detroit Goodfellows in a variety of ways. Doll dressing is a wonderful way for a Brownie or Girl Scout troop to get involved. We also invite young ladies to participate in our doll judging program in late November. The girls are given the challenging task of picking the “Top Ten Best Dressed Dolls” from hundreds of entries. Young people can also assist in coin counting, envelope stuffing and addressing projects for the organization.
Volunteers interested in working with the Detroit Goodfellows should contact Sari Klok-Schneider at 586-775-6139 or via email at sarigoodfellows@gmail.com.
