Every year on the first Monday following Thanksgiving, members, Detroit Police Officers and Detroit Firefighters take to the streets to sell a special edition of The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press. It honors the Detroit Goodfellows’ humble beginnings. In 1914, James J. Brady gathered a group of former news boys and sold newspapers to raise money to make sure no child was forgotten at the holiday.
Your purchase of this special newspaper helps us fulfill our mission. Thank you for your support.
